Once upon a time, there was a woodcutter named Lee Mu who was chopping wood by the river.
Suddenly, his axe slipped and fell into the river, being carried away by the water.
He sat on the bank, crying sadly.
At that moment, a god named Hermes saw Lee Mu and felt very sympathetic.
He walked over to Lee Mu, asked about the situation, and then jumped into the river to look for the axe.
The first time, Hermes retrieved a golden axe from the bottom of the river and asked Lee Mu, "Is this your axe?"
Lee Mu shook his head and said, "No."
Hermes continued to search in the river.
The second time, Hermes brought up a silver axe and again asked Lee Mu, "Is this your axe this time?"
Lee Mu still shook his head and said, "No."
The third time, Hermes finally found Lee Mu's old axe.
When he handed the old axe to Lee Mu, Lee Mu happily said, "Yes! This is my lost axe."
Hermes saw that Lee Mu was so honest and decided to reward him.
So, not only did he return Lee Mu's old axe to him, but he also gave him both the golden and silver axes.
Lee Mu returned home with three axes and told his friends about his experience.
Among them was a man named Wang Shi, who became greedy after hearing about it.
He also ran to the river, deliberately threw his axe into the river, and then sat there pretending to cry.
Hermes saw Wang Shi crying there and went over to ask him what had happened.
Wang Shi told Hermes that his axe had fallen into the river.
Hermes went down to retrieve the axe, and the first one he picked up was a golden axe.
When Hermes showed the golden axe to Wang Shi, Wang Shi immediately exclaimed excitedly, "Oh! This is my axe!"
But Hermes saw the greedy expression on Wang Shi's face and became very angry.
He did not give the golden axe to Wang Shi, nor did he give him his original axe.
This story tells us that honest people will receive help from others, while cunning people will only be despised by people.
So, we must always be honest and good children.
