从前，有个父亲有两个女儿。
一个嫁给了菜农，另一个嫁给了陶工。
这位父亲很关心他的女儿们，常常去探望她们。
一天，他来到了菜农的家。
他问他的大女儿过得怎么样，生活是否顺利。
大女儿笑着回答说：“一切都很好，爸爸。只是有一件事我需要向神明祈祷，那就是希望多下雨。因为这样，蔬菜才能长得更好。”
过了一段时间，父亲又去了陶工的家，去看他的小女儿。
他问她过得如何，是否有需要帮助的地方。
小女儿也笑着说：“爸爸，我过得很好，没有什么缺的。只有一件事我想请求神明，那就是希望天气晴朗，阳光充足。因为这样，陶器就能更快地干燥。”
听到小女儿的话，父亲有些为难。
他对小女儿说：“你希望出太阳，而你的姐姐却盼下雨。那我应该为谁祈祷呢？”
这个故事告诉我们，如果我们同时想做两件完全相反的事情，那么我们可能一件事都做不成。
所以，我们应该明确自己的目标，然后朝着这个目标努力。
Once upon a time, there was a father who had two daughters.
One married a farmer, and the other married a potter.
The father cared deeply for his daughters and often visited them.
One day, he went to the farmer's house.
He asked his eldest daughter how she was doing and if everything was going well.
The eldest daughter smiled and replied, "Everything is fine, Dad. But there is one thing I need to pray to the gods for, and that is for more rain. Because then, the vegetables can grow better."
After some time, the father went to the potter's house to visit his youngest daughter.
He asked her how she was doing and if there was anything she needed help with.
The youngest daughter also smiled and said, "Dad, I'm doing well, and I have no lack of anything. There is only one thing I want to ask the gods for, and that is for sunny weather and plenty of sunshine. Because then, the pottery can dry faster."
Hearing his youngest daughter's words, the father felt troubled.
He said to her, "You want sunshine, but your sister hopes for rain. Then who should I pray for?"
This story teaches us that if we want to do two completely opposite things at the same time, we may not be able to accomplish either one.
So, we should set our goals clearly and strive towards them.
