从前，有一个楚国的大人叫做李越，他要坐船渡过一条大江。
在船上，李越大意了，不小心把他的宝剑掉进了水里。
哎呀！
这可怎么办呢？
宝剑可是很重要的东西啊！
不过，李越并没有马上跳下水去寻找宝剑。
他想了一个办法，就是用小刀在船身上刻了一个记号，他说：“这个记号就表示我的宝剑掉下去的地方。”
等船靠岸停了下来，李越就从那个记号处跳下水去找宝剑。
但是，他找来找去都没有找到宝剑。
你知道为什么吗？
原来，船已经开走了，而宝剑还在水底，是不会跟着船走的。
所以，李越这样做是找不到宝剑的。
这个故事告诉我们一个道理：做事不能太固执，要有变通的能力。
如果只是一味地按照老方法去做，而不考虑实际情况的变化，那是不会成功的。
这个故事来自于战国时期秦国丞相吕不韦的一本书《吕氏春秋》。
他在书中讲到，治理国家的人应该明白世事是在不断变化的，不能总是按照老一套的方法去做，需要根据实际情况做出改变。
所以，“刻舟求剑”这个成语，就是用来比喻那些不知道变通、一味固执己见的人。
我们要学会灵活思考，不要像李越那样“刻舟求剑”。
