秦朝末年，许多英雄豪杰纷纷起兵争夺天下。
刘邦的手下大将韩信打败了齐王田广，占领了临淄，并被封为齐王。
那时，韩信拥有的兵力和权力甚至超过了刘邦。
他的谋士蒯通劝他脱离刘邦，与项羽联手，五分天下，然后自立为王。
但韩信没有同意。
后来，刘邦得到了天下，对韩信起了疑心，找机会将他贬为淮阴侯。
这时，韩信才决定谋反，却被别人告密，被骗进宫里杀死了。
在死前，韩信很后悔没有早些采用蒯通的计策。
刘邦听到了这句话，便派人去抓蒯通，想杀了他。
当刘邦捉到蒯通后，问他是否曾劝韩信谋反。
蒯通坦白地回答说：“秦朝失去了天下，所有的英雄都在争夺，只有最有才能、动作最快的人能赢得天下。每个有才能的人都想要成为国王，难道你要把所有人都杀了吗？而且当时韩信是我的主人，我为主人尽力，这有什么错呢？”
刘邦听了这番话，觉得很有道理，于是赦免了蒯通。
这个故事中的成语“疾足先得”后来演变成了“捷足先登”，用来比喻行动最快的人最先达到目的。

It was only then that Han Xin decided to rebel, but he was betrayed and lured into the palace where he was killed.
On his deathbed, Han Xin regretted not adopting Kuai Tong's strategy earlier.
When Liu Bang heard this, he sent people to capture Kuai Tong and kill him.
When Liu Bang caught Kuai Tong, he asked if he had ever advised Han Xin to rebel.
Kuai Tong openly replied, "The Qin Dynasty lost the world, and all the heroes were fighting for it. Only the most capable and quickest person could win. Every capable person wanted to be a king. Did you want to kill them all? And at that time, Han Xin was my master. I did my best for my master. What's wrong with that?"
Liu Bang thought these words made sense, so he pardoned Kuai Tong.
The idiom 'quick feet first' in this story later evolved into 'quick to act', which is used to describe the person who acts fastest and reaches their goal first.
