Once upon a time, there was a man named Peter who had a very special goose.
This goose would lay beautiful golden eggs.
Every morning, Peter would find a shiny golden egg in the goose's nest.
Peter thought to himself when he saw these golden eggs, "If there are gold pieces in the goose's belly, wouldn't I be able to get even more gold?"
So, he decided to kill the goose and see if there were any gold pieces inside.
Peter took up a knife and cruelly killed the goose.
Then, he opened the goose's belly and found that it was no different from any other ordinary goose, and nothing was found.
Peter was very disappointed. He regretted that his greed made him lose the golden eggs he could get every day.
He realized that because he wanted more, he ended up losing what he originally had.
This story tells us that we should cherish everything we have now and not be too greedy.
Just like Peter, in pursuit of greater wealth, he ignored the small interests at hand, which eventually led to empty-handedness.
So, we must learn to be content and not be like Peter, who 'killed the goose that laid the golden eggs'.
