Once upon a time, there was a group of mice and a group of weasels. They were always fighting with each other.
Every time they fought, the mice would lose badly.
One day, the mice gathered together to discuss why they were always losing.
After much discussion, they decided that it was because they didn't have an outstanding leader to command their battles.
So, they elected several mice as their generals.
These newly-elected mouse generals wanted to look different from others, so they tied horns on their heads.
Then, a new round of battle began.
But, just like before, the mice lost again to the weasels.
The other ordinary mice easily escaped into their holes, but the generals couldn't fit in because of the horns on their heads. In the end, they were all eaten by the weasels.
This story tells us that for many people, vanity often leads to misfortune.
We should be true to ourselves instead of pursuing superficial vanity.
