在很久以前,有一位非常贤明的君主,他的名字叫尧。
当尧年纪大了的时候,他决定把自己的位置让给一个叫做许由的有才能的人。
但是,许由拒绝了这个提议,并对尧说:“尊敬的国王,您已经做得很好了,我没有什么可以做的。你看,小鸟在树林里筑巢,它们只需要一根树枝;小老鼠去河边喝水,即使河水再多,它们也只会喝到足够为止。所以,我不需要这么大的天下。而且,如果厨师不愿意做饭,主祭人也不能代替厨师去做饭。同样,我也不能代替您。”
因此,“越俎代庖”这个成语就从这里出现了。
它告诉我们,每个人都有自己的职责和任务,我们不应该超越自己的职责,去做别人的事情。

Long, long ago, there was a very wise king named Yao.
